Essay Questions
On a separate sheet of paper, please answer the following essay questions and attach to your completed Graduate Resident Advisor application.
Why did you decide to apply for the Graduate Resident Advisor (GRA) position at Lasell University? Discuss the various skills, qualities, and talents you would bring to the position. Please be as specific as possible. Discuss the challenges you envision for yourself in the GRA position and what you would like to accomplish as the GRA.
Discuss a challenge you have experienced. How did you overcome it? What did you learn from the experience? How does this experience translate to the GRA position?
If you expect to be employed (other than as the GRA), participate in an academic internship, athletic activity or other extracurricular activity next semester (on or off campus), please describe where you will be employed or interning, in what capacity, and for how many hours weekly. How will you balance those responsibilities with the GRA position?
References
You will need one reference in order to apply for the Graduate Resident Advisor position. Your required references should come from either:
A Lasell University faculty, staff, or administrators.
Someone who is qualified to speak to your abilities to serve in this position (i.e.a teacher/professor or supervisor who has observed you in a leadership role). References will not be accepted from family members.
Your reference should be able to write effectively on your behalf in relation to the position of Graduate Resident Advisor. We are most interested in information such as:
